On a tangent from the Vought Blitzfighter/ATLAS/VMX lightweight attack studies thread, I see that the Vought proposals were designed around the GarretT ATF3 because its double 180-degree reversal flow path completely hid the hot sections of the turbine and thoroughly mixed the hot and cold efflux, resulting in an unusually low infrared signature.
Are there any modern turbofan designs in production that use this configuration or another to achieve the same low infrared signature?
Cheers,
Matthew
