The Mk V gun layout was a continuation of the layout of the Mks I to IV with a 6-pdr gun in a sponson on each side but the proposed Mk VI replaced those with a single 6-pdr centreline firing between the tracks and had a raised superstructure with machine guns plus additional machine guns on the side and at the rear.
Would the Mk VI gun layout have been of more use than the Mk I to V?
Would there have been issues with the gun digging in?
Given use had been made of the unditching beam later on, why the change from the Mk V to Mk VI and taller superstructure?
Could the 6-pdr have been fitted in the raised superstructure?
