This from Putnam's 'Miles', p.314 . . ."Towards the end of the war a small band of enthusiasts at the LiverpoolRoad factory, asked George Miles for permission to design and build in their own time an aeroplane which was to be their idea of the ideal club orprivate owner’s aircraft......It was called the L.R.5 because it was the fifth prototype for which theLiverpool Road team had been responsible, the others beingthe M28, M.35, M.39B and the Aerovan, and it was allotted the typenumber M.64."Also see HERE :-cheers,Robin.
