Hi! MiG I-320.
(1) MiG I-320 was a all weather interceptor with radar requested in January 1948.
(2) MiG OKB built two prototypes R-1 and R-2.
(3) Two crew aircraft with twin engine.
(4) The wing had the same aerofoil profile and sweep compared with MiG-15.
(5) The airntake was divided into three, the center duct fed air to the front RD-45F engine, side duct passing on each side of the cockpit fed the air to the rear RD-45F engine.
(6) The cockpit was unpressurized.
(7) The left seat was occupied by the captain, the right seat was occupied by the radar operator.
(8) Armament : two N-37 cannons.
R-1
(1) The first flight was 1949/4/16.
(2) radar delayed to install.
(3) Problems were wing drop (from 930 to 940km/h) and roll instability at Mach 0.895.
R-2
(1) Completed in 1949/11.
(2) Engine : VK-1 (2700KG each).
(3) Larger windscreen and canopy.
(4) Radar : Toriy-A.
