The name « Mercury » was used for at least two projects by Martin. The first known occurrence was for a projected high-wing variant of the Model 2-O-2 airliner (the Model 202-12) and soon enough the name was reused for a Carrier Onboard Delivery (COD) variant of the AM-1 « Mauler » (Model 210) for the U.S. Navy.

Unfortunately I do not have better scans than these; the first of which was taken from Martin Aircraft 1909-1960 (Markiewicz & Thompson). If anyone could add to/improve on this, it would be nice.

(Thanks Paul for the photocopies!).

Here's a somewhat high res version of that (we posted on our Spotlight page today strictly by coincidence).
