Early in the design process of the C.102 Jetliner, Avro Canada studied a turboprop variation for Trans-Canada Airlines powered by four Armstrong-Siddeley Mambas. I've seen no drawings of this variant so the following is highly conjectural.[Mods: please remove images if they are speculative enough to be seen as fake/fantasy or otherwise inappropriate for the forum.]A contemporary AJ.65-powered C.102 study featured a through-spar arrangement for the engines.http://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,5183.msg41081.htmlIn light of this layout, it seems probable that the Mamba-powered version also had through-spar engines (to gain more propeller clearance among other reasons). If anyone has any more details about the Mamba-powered C.102 concept, I'd very much like to hear about it.
