Hi! I went to MACS(Marine Corps Air Station) IWAKUNI FRIENDSHIP DAY MAY 5,2010.(Near Hiroshima city Japan.)
There were display of AV-8B, FA-18C/E, F-16C, KC-130J etc, and flight demonstration of AV-8B, FA-18C/E, F-16C, U-2R from Korea,KC-130J with FA-18 and JASDF's Blue Impulse aerobatics team consist of six T-4 trainers. AV-8B demonstrated STOVL and 45 degree climb from stopping mid air. I tried to take radar blocker pictures of FA-18E air intake. Can you see it? I attach the picture of FA-18E radar blocker scanned from KOKU FAN magazine.

FA-18 made very low altitude high speed pass. We saw white vertical shock wave twice. Between the wave, FA-18 flew supersonic speed?
It was a surprising very noisy flight. All audience except me covered their ears by hands. I enjoyed the sound very much.
U-2 made 60 degree climb after high speed pass. It took only one minutes to reach 10,000 feet.
Blue impulse made very good 30 minutes performance.
