I have some UNCONFIRMED infos from interviews, that Siebel-ATG mechanics were trained in Italy in 1953/54. Later they should have built some Macchi MB.30 (I believe MB.308) in a small series in Italy, which should be traded by Luftfahrt Technik GmbH in Cologne. Later Luftfahrt Technik GmbH and SIAT were discussing license production of the MB.508 in Germany, but did not finalize this.

Background of this cooperation was, that it still was not allowed to produce aircraft in Germany until 1955.

But Friedrich Siebel already wanted to be ready for the restart of the German aviation industry, when the restrictions would fall.

Does someone have more infos about this SIAT-Macchi cooperation in the early 50s?

Any infos about MB.30 or MB.508?

Best, Horst
