It's hard to imagine a modern scenario where an Abrams would need to expend that much machine gun ammo in a single engagement. I think the coax ready box should be plenty although I've heard reloading it is a pain and towards the bottom of it the machine gun gets a few misfeeds due to the positioning of the belt by then.I've always found the idea of an heavier secondary armament intriguing versus having just the coax MG but there are a lot of options there including the question of where such a weapon should be. Coaxial to the main gun? Externally but still forward firing? An independent RCWS controlled the tank commander?
