Looking for Information on two weapon systems

I am very interested in the area of conventional prompt global strike but have been unable to find any information - other than their respective names of course - on an Air Force program simply called the "Conventional Strike Missile" and an Army program called the "Advanced Hypersonic Weapon".

Any help would be much appreciated.

Firefly 2 - Thanks for your help. I have seen some of the articles you linked to but had trouble finding something that talked about the actual design of the system. The sciencesecurity article does, however, examine an actual potential system so again thanks ;D

I think not. The linked articles all describe it as an alternative to the Conventional Trident Missile, which COngress was unahppy with due to verification issues. The precise technical solution for CSM has never been described, I believe. However, I did come across one interesting article suggesting that the upper stage would be derived from DARPA's Hypersonic Test Vehicle project.

Here's a brief discussion of HTV-2, which appears to be close to the upper stage envisaged for CSM. This is not FALCON/Blackswift--HTV-2 seems to be much less ambitious.

Based on these two articles, CSM might be something like an Orbital Sciences Minotaur launch vehicle with a hypersonic maneuvering warhead vehicle as the final stage. Given that Minotaur is basically a space launch vehicle built from the three lower stages of an MX/Peacekeeper (LGM-118) plus a commercial final stage, turning that back into a missile isn't much of a stretch.
