Greetings All -

Unusual - the basic airframe looks like an ERJ-135/145. Any ideas?

Good Day All -

Presently on EBay is an Embraer display model for the U.S. Navy:

Any ideas for what program this would have been proposed?

Enjoy the Day! Mark

Factory Proposal Model of the Lockheed-Martin entry for the U.S. Army's Aerial Common Sensor (ACS) competition. This proposal is based on the Embraer EMB-145 airframe and was in competition with the Northrop Grumman ACS, itself based on the General Dynamics (Gulfstream) G-550 platform (see earlier posts).

NGC lost to Lockheed-Martin. However, it was later discovered the EMB-145 airframe was too small to install, remove and maneuver the electronic enclosures in the cabin. This lead to an attempted upgrade to the larger Embraer E-series platform and eventual cancellation. The Navy was also in on the program, seeing this as a way to replace their Lockheed EP-3Es.

Program details provided by SPF Member aim9xray.

Minor nit: the original ACS competition (ca. 2004) was between the EMB-145 and the G450. The G550-based platform is a newer iteration.
