It's very interesting story,

Allan and Malcolm Haines Lougheed was passion in aviation from their early years,Allan born in Niles,California
1889 after they built their first airplane,Model G,they founded the Alco Hydro-Aeroplane Co. in 1913,closed
after short while.

But in 1916 they established the Lougheed Aircraft Manufacturing Co.,and after WWI,the firm employed Mr.
John K. Northrop,a young designer for his exceptionally talent,company liquidated in 1921,Allan never gave
up,and in 1926 at Santa Babara,California,they formed the Lockheed Aircraft Company,and in 1929 the
organization became a part of the Detroit Aircraft Corporation.

They left the company even before bankrupt in 1931,and in 1930 Allan founded Lougheed Brothers Aircraft
Corporation,which purchased by Robert E. Cross and Lloyd Strearman for a consortium,resumed trading
under old name,in 1932 he set up Alhambra Airport & Air Transport Company,later called Alcor Aircraft
Corporation which also in August 1937 became known as AiRover Co.

And in 1938 renamed as Vega Airplane Company,then the title changed into Vega Aircraft Corporation in 1941,
when became a full subsidiary of Lockheed in this year,and in 30 November 1943 they abandoned use Vega and
was known as Lockheed Plant 2.

The company also formed many firms;

- Lockheed Aircraft Service Co. in 1960

- Lockheed-California in June 1961,later known as Calac

- Lockheed-Georgia June 1961,later became Lockheed Aeronautical System Group LASG

- Lockheed Missile and Space Co.,June 1961

- Lockheed-Azcarate SA of 1957,in Mexico

- Lockheed-Kaiser of 1958,in Argentina
