Don't think so. The "official successor" of the Cheyenne was the AH-64 Apache, started in 1972. It was supposed to be less costly than the Cheyenne; in the end, the sole Apache avionic set was as expensive as a whole Cheyenne. The Comanche had roots in the LHX, itself planned successor of the OH-58 Kiowa, which entered service in the late 70's. OH-58 are still flying as of today.Footnote: I LOVE the AH-56 Cheyenne. What a machine... doomed from the start by crazy specifications. Le Fana de l'aviation, July-August 2000 edition, had a superb article crammed with photos and drawings. Highly recommended.
