Klemm Alpha

In 1930, with the discontinuation of the Klemm L.20 and L.25 models and the trend towards more powerful engines, Klemm looked at an inexpensive way of converting around 8,000 trained glider pilots to powered flight. To this end the company developed the Alpha. As far as I can see, the sole example registered as D-2217 undertook test flights at FAG Böblingen in 1930/31, but was not adopted. Sorry about that, I took that the website I downloaded it from was 100% accurate! However may I bring your attention to the document I also downloaded, you may notice that after the word Insassen (which means occupants) it states 2 pers!

"Zuladung" : 95 kg for two "Insassen" ...

Here , the Klemm L 30 , from a source of the early thirties (around 1932) (sorry , I don't remember which ...) : Fluggewicht 515 kg .
and the Alpha , from "Scale" , in an article by the well known Karlheinz Kenz : Fluggewicht 350kg
