Seller's description:
This auction is for a Kaiser-Fleetwings XBTK-1 desk model. This vintage model was made in house by Kaiser-Fleetwings in the 1940's for presentations and promotional purposes. This large model measures an impressive 20" wide and 15" long. The model is solid wood and it is in great shape for being 70+ years old. The model does have a few chips in the blue paint and the models removable bombs are missing. The model has an actual bearing mounted inside the nose to spin the large propeller freely. The model has a large threaded swivel mount, so the model can be displayed in various positions. The stand is wood with metal embedded inside it to give it the necessary weight to keep it from tipping over. The stands metal plaque reads " Kaiser Cargo Inc. - Fleetwings Division - Model XBTK-1." The craftsmanship in this 1940's model is amazing and it was built to impress. Dont miss out on this rare opportunity to own a plane that never was. One of a kind!

Looks like a Douglas Skyraider to me...

Roger that.

Which leads me to wonder if there is a Spad base out in the wild somewhere with a XBTK-1 perched upon it...

What a conman! (or an ignorant...)

It is INDEED a Douglas Skyraider perched on top of a Kaiser-Fleetwings stand! The two were competing designs for the same 1943 requirement (as the XBT2D-1 Destroyer II and the XBTK-1) so there could have been some mix-up of models and stands at some point...

Clearly a Skyraider!
