Dating from slightly later than Auberns Jupiter Orbiting Vehicle for Exploration (JOVE), this Jupiter orbier was the product of the NASA-Cornell Doctoral Design Trainee Group, which ran from 1967 to 1970.
The Jupiter Orbiting Spacecraft (JOSÉ), was designed with the Saturn V INT-20/Centaur as the launch vehicle, with a weight of around 4,319 lbs (around 2.2 tons (metric)) would have been powered by 2 RTGs providing 600w.
The instrumentation fit, like the earlier spacecraft was biased towards particles and fields (See attached) with Jupiter itself being the main focus of study.
