Interesting that the 225 is shorter than the 222 yet has another two cylinders in the block. It looks like most of the reduction in length comes from reducing the size of the reduction gearing?

The example of the Jumo 222 shown is an early model,according to the same source, who gives a photo of a so-called late model,shorter, with hardly a reduction gear.
