Wonderful topic! Wow, I didn't know there had been so many Despretz projects.
Also, I have finally got a proper identification for the Typhon 2, which I had filed under "Eiffel" although it absolutely didn't satisfy me... (it also appears elsewhere on this forum under the name "Ateliers Normandie-Anjou")
Allow me to mention an earlier Despretz aircraft from 1960, the Lépidoptère. It was a Mignet HM.360 carrying construction number 36 and registered as F-WJXM.

After checking my Le Trait d'Union index, I realized that I actually had issues N° 93 and 94 in my collection... and that I therefore had all that information without knowing it! (I've inherited my dad's own aviation library on top of my own, and haven't gone through it all just yet...)

These two issues are quite incredible, with 20 and 22 pages on Despretz, respectively! Every three-view arrangement gets a full A4 page, some even get a double page. There are also plenty more photos of the Flash to enjoy, but also of his earlier "Lépidoptère" (an HM.360 "Pou" with a 65 hp Volkswagen engine). A fascinating account of an unfortunate airplane maker whose career could have been much more successful if he hadn't had a very serious accident in 1965 in a Piel CP.60 "Diamant". I wish I could scan those two issues (dated January and March 1984), but they go back to the days when the publication still consisted of A4 sheets stapled together, which makes it impossible unless I dismantle them...

I'm attaching an item from Aviation Magazine N° 840, in which Despretz wrote a letter, complaining that the magazine had published an item on the new Erpals "Eider Junior" but failed to see that it was just "a copy of my Jidey J-13 prototype, pure and simple."
