This is a process that requires much less training as well as time to implement. All the heavy lifting would come from companies like Ducommun, Spirit Aero, Aurora, Parker, and smaller companies. All these components would be delivered as assemblies with things like wiring and obviously mechanical fastenting of the subsystems. The bigger issue is cost to generate material properties databases. This is a costly undertaking usually in the half million for a single composite material.I would not be as worried about the contracts department. Oftentimes, R&D contracts are much more complicated than production. If they are able to handle the R&D, I imagine that they are well equipped to handle the production side of things. They most likely will, if they have not already, need to get an ISO certification.
