Hi,

no one mentioned that,there was a competition after WWII,started in 1948
and may be continued up to 1951,but many of the tenders were a mystery;

Hasn't Skybolt long since debunked the notion of a 1948 Re.2008 jet fighter? He said, "as for the jet Re.2008, there is no known traces of the visit of Longhi, Caproni & Co to Aeronautica Militare to tender the project."

In other words, that 'jet Re.2008' was a bit of street-theatre by Roberto Longhi trying to reclaim his fading reputation.
