Currently, the Italian Carrier Strike Group "Gruppo Navale 31" after a short stop in Singapore is participating to the "Pitch Black" exercise with the Australian Navy.
The CSG 31 is composed by the aircraft carirer (and flagship) ITS Count of Cavour and by the FREMM Alpino, the Cavour has a mixed flight group composed by three F-35B, six AV-B+ and some EH-101 Merlin.

After the "Pitch Black" the CSG 31 will head to Japan to conduct joint exercises with the Japan Self Defence maritime forces (and its aircraft carriers).
This also should allow Japanese to spot live F-35B carrier operations....

USS Mobile LCS 26 and the Italian CSG consisting of the aircraft carrier ITS Cavour (CVH 550), flagship of the Italian Navy’s Fleet, and the Carlo Bergamini-class FREMM Frigate ITS Alpino (F 594) conduct bilateral operations in the South China Sea.

The carrier in the image's foreground is, indeed, a US CVN. Top right corner of image: ITS Cavour
 
That is a very odd mix of aircraft in the wing. Was not expecting to see mixed Harrier and F35 Air Groups.
