I was reading a post in a modelling forum, and the person writing was going into great detail about how he was kit bashing an inboard pylon for this Israeli F-4E since Israel modified theirs. His statement mentioned the fact that in order to use the Popeye and Tadmit AGMs along with the AN/ALE-40 Chaff/Flare dispensers they had to move the mounting of the MAU-12 ejector forward in the pylon thus necessitating the lengthening of the pylon.
I have never heard of this before and was wondering if anyone else had? Anyone have any references or additional details? I have been working for quite a while on documenting the entire F-4 experience (fact and fiction) in a series of very detailed drawings, and would like to include this fact, if indeed it is a fact.
