It appears India's navy is building a base on Agaléga island:

And I'm sure, the Western public will cheer this again as a legal effort to defend India's interest especially against China in the same way like any Japanese or Taiwanese Island building i the SCS is justified ... and again onyl China's islands are still rated illegal! ;)

The big difference being the nine dashed line claim and the fact those islands didn’t exist nor are recognized as sovereign territory by the UN. But yes, besides that, exactly the same.

I am even more surprised that Deino's stance wasn't even moderated.

From Wiki . . .

"There is a Memorandum of Understanding between the governments of Mauritius and India to develop the Agaléga islands and allowing India to set up a military base there. [see India–Mauritius military cooperation). Local residents are unhappy and protesting over construction of the military base which is raising issues of unemployment, culture and Mauritian sovereignty."
