Yap, this craft was being developed as Yugoslav response to Me-110. Royal Yugoslav air force wanted to pair him with Ik-3, just like the Germans had Me-109 and 110.

Note that the lower picture in that post is not Ik-5 but a light bomber prototype called Orkan (orkan - cyclone,hurricane,tornado or typhoon, pick your translation favorite ;D). Unlike IK-5, Orkan was built and tested. Although it did crash once, it was repaired and flown again.

It wasn't the only "heavy" fighter project, the other one was Rogožarski R-313. You can find picture of it in this thread about yugoslav military aviation (1918-1941):
