Good point.The thing is, they never refer to the ship "by name" in any of the three "Apes" films the spacecraft appears in.The name appears to be "given" to it by fans later. Thus, the name seems to be justified.I had always speculated on why we never see the back end. In the first (and best) film, it doesn't need to be shown, but later they could have. I always felt they designed such a really cool front end, that the back end would never live up to it and they left it as is.
