Hesham, check Lockheed patents since 1995 - and your borders of imagination will be pushed much further

With a Space Shuttle underneath no less!

Hi Everyone!

I recall seeing this in Aviation Week many years ago, and I think back then it was given the name Mega Lifter, though I'm not sure if that was just a generic designation.
It also had the front end (nose and pilots cabin) of a C-5 Galaxy.

Chuck is absolutely right !
i think, we had the Megaifter here before, but I couldn't find it .
So here it is again, it reminds me of the TV-series "The Thunderbirds",
somebody remember it ? ;)

(from Aviation Week 1974_1-13)

Resurrected as Ohio Airships Dynalifter (TM), '...close to landing $4.09B contract for 38 Dynalifter Freighters'

Dear Jemiba, what happened to your usually perfect scanner?)))

Never change a reliable method .. :-[
Sorry, have made new cutouts !

I found this airship design in a "documentary" entitled The Jupiter Menace which seems (from the dress style) to date from the late 1970's, early 1980's. The 'plot' is bog standard the world is going to end in 2000 stuff but has one segment in a survivalist style community preparing to rule over the ashes from which the picture below is taken.

Does this conform to any real airship proposal?

Technovelgy.com entry on the Dynalifter from 2006:
http://www.technovelgy.com/ct/Science-Fiction-News.asp?NewsNum=520

Despite the first prototype being seriously damaged on the ground in a severe storm in early June 2007, the project seems to have been still live as of 2011; Current site here, old version of site here (no longer fully functional).

Here's a link to a video from 2009 on Ohio Airships: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=E-g47hctNuk

That is the piece of art I remember—thought I think I saw a 3/4 view drawing of a shuttle orbiter inside…memory fails
