Seems like a wholly unnecessary clarification.

It means it tends not to break many stories, but to cover existing ones in greater and more measured depth than newspapers manage. Which is a useful piece of context when evaluating Hegseth's comments today.

Gosh, it sure is a good thing that this story makes the Trump administration look bad, or otherwise "politics" would get the thread dumped.

The current administration made the story, otherwise this thread would not exist.

I doubt you'd find many Europeans who'd agree.

A you-gov survey in November found pro Israel opinions tending around 25%, negative opinions of Israel around 50%, it's likely worsened since.

Sure. Take a look at the issue of substantially greater import to Europe and Europeans: the European *people* tend to not want to become a live-action production of "Camp of the Saints," but the EU and Euro governments think it's just a neato-keen idea. For all the Eurobleating about Trump being bad for democracy, the Euros don't seem to have much of it themselves.
