U.S. Businesses Add 807,000 Jobs in December, Surpassing Expectations​

Private-sector employment boomed in December as concerns over the Delta variant of Covid-19 abated and Omicron’s impact had yet to be felt on the economy, according to data from payroll provider ADP released Wednesday.

ADP’s December employment report, which measures the change in employees on private companies’ payrolls, said that 807,000 jobs were added last month, significantly above the 400,000 expected by economists. The November report showed a 505,000 increase, which was revised down from 534,000 in the latest release....
 
No one is shutting things down. It's the same old same old. 'Don't go to bars, restaurants or gyms... or the movies.' So what do I see? People at restaurants and movie theaters. Can't say anything about bars and gyms. And "the virus" did something? How about: Hey everybody! Ignore the precautions! Visit grandma! Go to a nice restaurant!" And then... There's always an "... and then."

And so on and so forth. Fortunately, the government is ordering double its original order for the Pfizer antiviral pills. Somehow, they are very complicated to make.
 
Early March, 2020, and unemployment is at 4.6%. Now? Perhaps they'll figure out how many jobs were really added. I'm not optimistic.
