Hi,

P.75 was a fighter,powered by one 2200 hp DB.610 engine.

I have the HsP. 30 as Hs.128 and the HsP.123 as Hs.132.

Excellent,

many thanks guys. The P.77 is puzzling. Steve Coates states that it was a helicopter project, and that even metal was cut for it in 1942. But it happears in Horst Materna`s book "Die Geschichte der Henschel Flugzeug-Werke..." as a high altitude bomber.

Some explanations;

P.54 was airliner project,powered by two 1700 hp BMW 801 engines.
P.72 was airliner project,also powered by two 1700 hp BMW 801 engines.
P.76 was ground attack aircraft project,powered by two 700 hp Gnome/
Rhone 14M engines.
P.? was twin boom transport project,powered by two piston engines a
competitor to Arado Ar.232;

This is an "odd ball" designation since it differs from the others:

PJ 600/67

It somewhat fits the P.90 description.

In Manfred Griehl's latest slim offering on Henschel there are some additions to the projects already noted:

Hs P.54 - This twin engine high-wing design was for a fourteen seat passenger airliner for DLH. Crew of 2 - 4.

Hs P.87 - Canard fast bomber with swept wings with a single DB 610 A-1 engine.

Hs P.122 - Tailess jet bomber with two BMW 018 jet engines under the wings. Work began early 1945 and work stopped after a couple of months.

Hs P.135 - Single He S011 jet engine fighter, short, stubby in appearance with wing tips angled up.

Hs P.136 - Two Argus engines mounted beneath the fin of this canard with straight wings. No horizontal tail as such but the engines gave the aircraft a distinctive appearance from above. Known as "Projekt Nahkampfflugzeug", work started at the end of 1944.

The book is a compact 128 page paperback and has a breakdown of Henschel types, production numbers, variants and illustrations. All of the projects mentioned above have 3-vu's, even if the P.122 is little more than a company sketch of the layout.

Dear all

A very straightforward question about the HS.129 "tank buster" aircraft. The A prototypes had Argus 410 with 450 hp and obviously the aircraft was underpowered.
We all know that the "solution" found was to put radial G&R engines produced by Vichy France. Ok. Those engines had nearly 700 hp and greatly helped.
Fine.

Now Wikipedia keep telling me that the Argus 410 become the 411 with far more hp - 650 hp. What's more, a lot of secondary LW aircraft build by Vichy France used that engine - to the point Renault carried on after WWII.

So why on Earth did the HS-129 never got Argus 411 ? far more straightforward than freakkin' French radials ! and same horsepower.

Then again, nazis and rationality were mutually exclusive words...
