Robert Lusser who had designed the Me-109 entered the Heinkel office later to do He-219 UHU.
Ernst Heinkel praises the Günther brothers highly. I think he was the talent behind it ...He-162. Ernst for sure too.

As I just saw your great renderings, it came to my mind, that the He 162 obviously had no
armoured windscreen, as was standard with other fighters. Such a rounded windscreen was
usd on the early examples of the Me 262, too, but then replaced with a framed one incorporating
an armoured glass panel. The Me 163 had no armoured windscreen, too, but here the complete
canopy was a one-piece construction and an armoured glass panel was placed inside. As the He 162
had a two-piece canopy (and we are on the speculative filed either) I think, perhaps the forward part
of the canopy could be changed to what probably would have been the real service type.

All seemed to have rounded one;

Maybe because the drag was too much and topspeed lovered under 700 km/h ?

Here is Me-162;
