Hawker Siddeley 1017 RAF/Naval Strike/Fighter Aircraft 1962

Ohhhh,

now that is interesting.

It looks somewhat like the VG strike aircraft from Hawker that is in BSP Hypersonics.

Nice find, thanks for sharing.

Cheers

Duncan

I like how the inward deflected main engine nozzles keep the main wheel tires nice and warm. Would help in the snow. ;D

Massive fin, T tail, engine pods, variable geometry, reverse tricycle undercarriage, VTOL, four conformal carriage Martels, lift engines! Talk about character this plane has got everything. Model makers of the world drop everything we need to see this in glorious 3D.

You mean like this?

My fag-packet scribbles and Adrian Mann's art.

It would've been in BSP4, but kept it for later. This is the one with the folding butterfly tail. Accompanying paper-work is at home and I'm not.

How about a shooter's eye view about to be catapulted? So you can see the two 'nose' gears, lift jets, engine pods, wings extended and conformal Martel/Sea Eagles.
This aircraft out Rhinos the Phantom. As a Bucaneer replacement beside the P.1154 RN onboard a CVA-01 they would have scared the Argies out of the Falklands. No live fire needed.
