Has the U.S airforce lost it's way

I just read that the airforce was mothballing many of it's F-15 some of the F-22 fighters
without a clear means of replacement. Where do we go from here?

That is not exactly new news. Don't worry, nothing is ever really retired in DoD with a clear replacement, including some really competent leadership.

If it makes you feel better, USN is even more crazy with ship. Like other western countries the social net has priority so the discretionary funds get smaller every year in real buying power.
