Gulfstream Aerospace's « Peregrine » NGT proposals

Just wondering if anyone here has images of the beautiful American Jet Industries Perigrin two seat (side by side) jet trainer.

AJI Peregrine is better known as the Gulfstream Peregrine 600. Here is a picture of it.

Great aircraft. It was one of the submissions for the NGT (Next Generation Trainer) competition. I'm surprised there isn't a topic on it already. I seem to remember seeing a full-scale mockup of it on the tarmac at Le Bourget when I was a teenager... Wish they'd produced it!

a subsequent iteration went to a rounder fuselage, with two NACA-type inlets. Will scan the picture i found as soon as i get to it.

I seem to remember seeing a full-scale mockup of it on the tarmac at Le Bourget when I was a teenager...

It was the actual prototype, one of the photos of the aircraft on airliners.net was taken at Le Bourget in 1983.

Very little technical information is available about this aircraft, the engine inlet certainly proved to be challenging - no one has tried anything like it ever since. While NACA type inlets are feasible for old turbojets, they simply do not work with turbofans.

The business jet namesake/derivative went to a classical dorsal inlet later on.

Here are some illustrations I did for a potential article in Le Fana de l'Aviation magazine, but the article was never published (maybe one day). On the second illustration, I showed the 3 configurations of the prototype that I observed on various photographies (along with some whatifs...).

Good Day All -

I recently acquired a 65,000 35mm slide collection that is primarily heavy with fire tanker images and Reno/Mojave Air Racing images. Aero Union at one time operated a Mini Guppy (N422AJ) and I came across photos of the Gulfstream American Peregrine (N600GA) being prepped and loaded into the Mini Guppy, possibly for the Paris Air Show based on the large 77 on the fuselage.
