Interesting design; never seen that before. But do You know where are the engine intakes ?? That "strange assembly" on top seems to be something like a top-mounted weapons release system/platform I’ve seem somewhere else before... ???

Flush-mounted on the underside. Haven't cut that part out yet. The weapons were small "WASP" missiles mounted in packed on the topside. This would help shield them from ground-based radars.
