I was thinking of a drawing I saw in an avation magazine a long time ago (1977 or '78). Maybe AWST, maybe not, but it was of a proposal by Grumman to build a new amphibian aimed, IIRC, at the civil / corporate market. I think it resembled a modernised (for then) Widgeon, but was NOT an upgrade. Ithink it as to be 8 pax & I'm fairly sure it was to be powered by 2 TCM GTSIO-520s. I've Googled & searched here to no avail. Anyone familiar with the project? Thanks.

Might be a civilianized Albatross. IIRC, there were a whole bunch available at the time.

I believe I saw a drawing in an issue of Interavia, circa 1979, of something looking like a turbo Widgeon.

An Albatross is way too big & not what it resembled at all. I would think GTSIO-520s might have enough power to taxi an Albatross.......... :)

Thanks! I believe that's it. The Teledyne 435 hp engines would be the GTSIO-520 variation.

Hi!

I think, you looking for Grumman 711 with two Teledyne 435 HP engines.
There was two-pages article in Flug Revue magazine 6/1979.
Today rough preview.

From Aviation magazine 1979
