Gloster F18/37 Fighter Project ?

Hi,

we know the Gloster submitted a low-mid-wing twin boom pusher fighter Project to the Specification
F18/37,but I found anther design to it as a mixed-powered concept,that made me confuse,is it a fake
or what ?.

Not quite correct. The design dates from January 1940, long after F.18/37 for which the Hawker Typhoon had been selected. When Carter was briefed in 1939 on the work Power Jets were doing on jet engines he suggested this mixed power aircraft using his F.18/37 design as a starting point.

... In January 1940 Carter had drawn up a sheme for a fighter- generally complying- with
Spec F.18/37 , but using mixed power units , probably the first example of such a design...

If they had gone with counter-rotating (coaxial) propellers, do you think the twin booms could have been eliminated?
Ultimately, "stability" for controlling such a short craft might have needed to wait on the development of "fly by wire" (as was the case of the flying wings), but I can see the seeds of a short hyper-acrobatic pusher in that design.
