I do not know what makes you think that Myers was "a great designer" and "built some extraordinary helicopters"...

As far as I know (and if I'm missing something out, please let me know) he built four machines altogether:

• In 1904, a helicopter prototype with three "lifting screws" and two laterally-placed tractor propellers, each driven by a two-cylinder engine patented in 1897.
• In 1927, his cart-mounted circle-wing concept (photo above) with two light engines on outriggers, tractor props, tricycle-gear, four doughnut-shaped wings on top and an open-frame fuselage [691 (c/n unknown)].
• Circa 1928, a coaxial-rotor helicopter built around the fuselage of a Thomas-Morse with 100hp Gnome engine [772 (c/n 2)].
• And finally, probably circa 1929, a tilt-wing variant of Helicopter 2 that may just have been the same machine rebuilt since it doesn't appear in registers. It is recorded as the last Myers project.

According to the book "Helicopters before Helicopters", Myers "dropped his helicopter development to perform services as a patent attorney" after his tilt-wing prototype was unsuccessful.

The existence of his 1943, 1945 and 1946 patent applications (which you shared above) shows he never quite gave up on his aeronautical aspirations... but to call him a "great designer" may be a little far-fetched...
