Ever since I first discovered a copy of his Armeen der NATO Staaten in a London bookshop back in the 70s I have collected editions of this book published between the 60s and the early 90s. He also produced similar volumes on the Warsaw Pact and the Neutral States of Europe.
Whether in hard or soft back they are the size of a pocket dictionary yet remain the best books on their subjects, containing orders of battle as well as photos and line drawings of equipment.
Now of course such info can be had on a phone online but for most of my life and even now these books have been a trusty companion and delight.
They turn up regularly in used booksellers, fleabay and amatheft.
