Found this nice model of the Super Frelon helicopter in green as opposed to the usual blue Marine version.

I think I have asked this question before but why does France not buy this for the Army Aviation or later select either the CH53 or CH47? They also had the Breguet 942 STOL transport which could have been very useful?

Because Puma was enough, or so it seems. As for Breguet 941: the interconnection between the four engines made maitenance intensive and expensive.

The green Super Frelon might have been flown by the Israeli Air Force or South African Air Force.
