For Romano R.50,it was the evolution of R.5.

For Romano R.50,it was the evolution of R.5.
Yes: the Romano R.5 became Romano R.50 F3 when it was militarized. we can guess the inscription R50 on top of the tail.
The Romano R.5/50 answered to 1929 program for "Hydravions biplace de surveillande côtière et de servitude" (Two-seater coastal surveillance and service seaplane). It's not the same program as the 1930 one you listed the concurrents. 1929 concurrents were: Latham 110, CAMS 80, Latécoère 410, Lioré et Olivier H.23-2, Loire 50 (and its derivatves Loire 50bis, 5152, 501 and 502) and Romano R.5. The winner was Loire.

This program is the Bp2 of 1930 for "Hydravions de surveillance biplaces embarqués catapultables avec ailes repliables pour croiseurs de 10 000 T de la Marine. (Classe IXbis). Destiné aux colonies" (Two-seater, catapultable, on-board surveillance seaplanes with folding wings for 10,000 T Navy cruisers (Class IXbis). Intended for the colonies).
The competitors were: Besson MB.41 (and derivatives MB.410/411), Bodianski 30, CAMS 90 (and project CAMS 91), Gourdou-Leseurre GL-830 (and derivatives GL.831 HY and GL.832 HY), Levasseur PL.11 R3b and PL.12 R2b, Potez 45 (and P.450/452) and possibly an unknown Romano project (not confirmed). The winner was the GL-831.

Thanks a lot, Philippe. I think it's always best to provide images for comparison when a competition is discussed, so here goes.
