For Ol' Blightly: Vickers-Armstrong Type 559

See PM for additional resources on 559.

Colour scheme - in its designed role as a high altitude interceptor, white seems most likely. See the P.1103 desk model - also white. P8 model seems a bluish grey, while the AW 169 model is a typical RAF scheme.

Why not just make it in multiple paint schemes? Choose a Lightning Squadron that was operational in the time frame and use the same/similar scheme/markings. I could definitely see this design in natural metal, like the early Lightnings. That's just my two cents. Whatever you do, I'll enjoy. ;)

Remember the Lightning was the exception to the rule and were originally unpainted in their natural metal finish, unlike the High speed silver applied to the bombers & undersides of fighter aircraft. Given the mid 60s in service date i suspect they would have been finished in Dark Green, Dark Sea Grey disruptive camo over light aircraft grey.

Cheers

Geoff

Um...that's where I was going with this I think. ;D

Still waaaay early in the process. I just whipped this up so people could see where I was going and critique.
