First generation active radar missiles

There is a "Rear Antenna". I think it is to get datalink signals from AWG-9 radar. What do u think?

The rear-aerial was for the reference receiver which directly received the illuminating radar from the launch F-14, it was used to help calculate the target's doppler-shift which was used to calculate its acceleration and velocity relative to the missile also used whenever the illuminating radar changed frequency.
