Fictional Kaiser-Hughes HK-1 Twin Hull

Model not based on a real concept, but interesting story from someone at Hughes.

During my tenure at the Hughes Aircraft model dept, we did two different scale HFB-1 flying boats that were given out as PR gifts to potential customers.
The smaller one pictured here had a roughly 8" wingspan in standard mode.
Bored - as usual, I cast two out and melded them together making for one huge flying boat!
I put this one in early 1943 markings.
Ironically, 20 years later I saw an image on the net that had a similar configuration.
Oh well.
