Realistically, the Titov would just flash past the window. I know Kubrick was a stickler for details, but I don;t remember seeing *anthing* out the SSV windows, apart from the Earth rotating outside the "phone booth" window. *Perhaps* is was tried and found to jsut not be worth the bother... it'd be just a white streak past a window, perhaps looking more like an error on the filmmakers part than an exteriro spacecraft. Guesswork, of course.Perhaps even more likely, dunno.
