FIAT Aviazione projects

Never heard of it.
It seems to be some spinoff of the original G-91, the number "2" before appeared for the series G-12/G-212.

Maybe did it was the original G-91Y designation?

Hi friends,
G.291 was a tentative designations of a preliminary study (1973-1974) for a replacement of G.91Y. The study sported the same fuselage married with a new wing. Immediately after started all the complex devolopment work that was the basis for the AMX, now A-11 Ghibli, and the G.291 was superseded.
I enclose a photo of a model from the net page of Aeromedia
Nico

Wow Nico, thank you so much!
As far as you know the new wing did improved the G-91Y's performance?
Or did it was aimed to increase agility?

Hans Redemann in his 1978 book "Vom Starfighter zur Hornet": The wing of the G.291 was to have a better lift coefficient and two additional hardpoints. The G.291 should also get better avionics and a more modern cockpit layout.

These are likely part of the Studio 3-1x series studies to develop the G.91Y (possibly G.91Y-2?) but not the G.291.

Is there a 3view sketch of the Fiat G.84 with the technical data for it?
