This variant of the free-flying Honest John missile, America's first nuclear-capable missile is one of the less known variants of the Honest John programme, was developed to carry a heavier payload. It comprised the main JATO rocket motor and six, eight and ten smaller rocket motors attached to the outside of the main motor. First launch: 1953-01-01. Last launch: 1954-11-15. Retired in 1954. - (For details on the Father John, see Cagle, History of the Basic (M31) Honest John Rocket System, 1950 - 1964, pp. 98 -100.)
