ERLA 55

Hi,

does anyone knows about this german projected aircraft, designed by the ERLA Maschinenwerk GmbH, Leipzig? It was to be a twin engined sports aircraft. Information taken from Bruno Lange.

Another image of that Erla 55 model ... this one from DKW und die Erla-Me-Flugzeuge: 1926 bis 1945 by Karl-Dieter Seifert (Sutton Verlag, Erfurt, Aug 2011, ISBN: 978-3-86680-852-2).

BTW, the Erla 55 was to be an Übungsflugzeug. So, a twin-engined trainer would be a more accurate description than a 'sports aircraft'.
