Really? There were sites proposed for new plants more than 10 years ago of which only Hinkley C has made any progress on and that has required very favourable offtake and the government taking a larger and larger stake

The new nuclear waste bill of the last week add that future plants will require planning for decommissioning and waste disposal costs as we’ve already got a backlog of a huge amount of nuclear waste to dispose of at an unknown cost to the taxpayer well over quarter of a trillion £ decisions on which keeps getting kicked down the road as no governent wants to be the one to pick a site and start paying for the project
