Posted here because it relates to a test/trials system that did not in and of itself enter active service. At the end, the video describes the work as being "applicable to Bomarc, Falcon and Sparrow", but I imagine there were many steps along the way for all three missiles between what you see here and what first got put in a service launcher or fitted to a service airplane.

Tech-heads like me should find this instructive. The Yanks (or the particular companies concerned) did a very good job of documenting all of this on film. I'm very sure that there's a lot more to the story than meets the eye, but I found this glimpse into the development process fascinating and I hope you do too. Those interested in test/trials variants of service aircraft will also get a kick, in this case as relates to the F-86. The hydraulic and power units for the captive seeker slotting into the ammunition bays are a definite foretaste of the modern LRU concept.
