I have copies of the original Inboard Profile drawings of the Douglas P292 and am seeking more info/drawings.

What appears clear from the drawings is that this was a tricycle landing gear heavy bomber project borrowing - at least in part - from the B-23 (primarily the tail with the addition of a tail gun position). My guess is that this was a project that eventually led to the Douglas Model 332, their entry for the R40B project that resulted in the B-29 and B-32.

Any additional information and drawings are greatly appreciated.

With thanks,

Hesham,

It is conceivable. The Douglas internal nomenclature can be Byzantine in its complexity and projects MIGHT have more than one identifier.

The original plans of which I have a copy are clearly labeled P292. Do you have something on a D-292?
